Why join Chatswood Communicators?
You will “learn by doing” in a mutually supportive and positive learning environment.
Being a member of Toastmasters is more than just showing up at meetings and giving a speech now and then. As a member,
you’ll learn and practise speaking in a friendly, supportive environment with people who are there for the same reason you are – to become better communicators.
Who attends Chatswood Communicators?
A diverse range of friendly people attend our club. Anyone (over 18) is welcome!
What happens at a typical meeting?
A typical meeting runs for 2 hours, every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. There are lots of opportunities to participate including prepared speeches, chairing meetings and impromptu speaking. Members are provided with constructive feedback and lots of encouragement.
Am I required to speak at a club meeting?
Whilst participating in the meeting is encouraged, it’s not mandatory. You do not have to participate in meetings until you feel ready. Still come along and see what it’s all about.
Do I need to join the club to attend?
No, visitors are very welcome. There is no obligation to join our club immediately, but to participate fully you will need to become a member.
We recommend you contact our club prior to visiting to confirm the meeting details such as time and location.
What resources will be available?
As a member you will receive manuals to guide you in your communication development, enrolment in a pathways program tailored to your goals and a subscription to the monthly Toastmaster magazine. In saying this, one of the best resources is the constructive feedback and encouragement you receive from other members.
See the Toastmaster International website for further information.
How long does it take to become a great speaker?
